Research - Part 4

What's this? It's plasma. I got it from HTJ by using some trick :-) "The Power of Dato" lol. Anyway we really need it for our coagulase test.

We have transferred the plasma into the test-tube. Wait! It's not test-tube. That's a name for it......arghhh really can't remember. Test-tube, test-tube, test-tube, it's fun to repeat them as quickly as possible......rotflol

Yo, finally I have Syafiq's pix :-) The gal besides him accidentally appears in the pix, so don't bother about her...

Shang and CW are showing the way to transfer the plasma into the test-tube.

A stolen pix from BJ lab :-)

No Smoking

Several days ago, I passed by an internet cafe. I was attracted by a 'No Smoking' sign.

This is the internet cafe that I mentioned. Obviously, there is a sign there.

Take a closer look. It is blur. Still well written JE NO SMOKING.

I wondered what JE stands for in this sign. Any suggestion? Hopefully is not for me :-)

Research - Part 3

Wow, finally don't need to sleep with them anymore. Guess where re they now? Lab in BJ. They must be happy to stay in a new environment.

Can u appreciate the Staph. - the yellowish colonies.

Actually, there re 2 types of Staph. in the agar - Staph. aureus and Staph. epidermidis. One kudo to any1 who can differentiate between them. It is quite simple.

Subculturing by Ultraman and Orey.

Look at the expert doing the subculture. Looks professional right? Actually we re having intention tremor :-)

Sorry to Syafiq. Just can't find ur pix :-) If u have 1 just email me and I will post up asap.

How u died?

Two ghosts met and both chat about how they died.

1st ghost : How u died?

2nd ghost : I died of cold.

1st ghost : How does it feel when you're dying in cold?

2nd ghost : Actually, I was imprisoned in the refrigerator. Initially, I was shivering, then my whole body started to freeze, later I felt the whole world was dark and I died. Fortunately, I died with not much sufferings.

1st ghost : You're so pityful....

2nd ghost : How about you? How did u die?

1st ghost : I died from heart attack.

2nd ghost : I see, why did u have a heart attack?

1st ghost : Actually, I found out that my wife is having an affair with another man. One day, when I came back from work, saw a pair of man shoes outside my house. Then, I realized that the guy was in my house with my wife. When I rushed into the bedroom, my wife was alone. I must find where that bastard is hiding. So I searched the toilet, I ran downstairs, looked in the storeroom, but the bastard was not there. So, I ran upstairs and searched the wardrobe, but I found nothing. Because I was too tired of all that running,I got a heart attack and died.

2nd ghost : Why didn't you look for the bastard in the fridge? If you did, both of us were alive now!!

Snake

It was 3.45pm. I went out of my room, going to collect my already dried clothes and ironed them. Wow, I saw Ultraman. Finally, he was back. Together with him were his gf, sister and sister's bf. His sister's bf was the first to come in and we had a short chatting session.

Suddenly, he paused. He asked, "Is that a snake?" Quickly, I looked at the place where he pointed. OMG, it was a snake. The first thing that ran across my mind, "Did it come back to revenge for its brother which Riki and I killed 2 months ago?" Without my spectacles, I could only see a snake's shadow there. I was quite sure it was longer and more muscular than the previous one. This time, we planned to call Bomba only and not to kill it. Worry that later its father, mother, grandpa, grandma and the whole family will come and look for us.

Without hesitating, I rushed into my room. Wore and spectacles and took my camera. Phew, I managed to get a pictire of it :-)

After 20 minutes, the Bomba arrived. All together 4 of them. Plus me got 5 then :-) They got ready a large stick to fight with the snake. To my surprise, when one of them saw the snake, "Kecilnya. Ada glove tak? Tak apalah, guna tangan sahaja." Then the war started.

One of them attacked the snake with the stick to lure it out from under the iron board. The other 2 quickly stepped on its body. Then the last one used his 'finger of death' to pinch on its head. I was responsible to take pictures during the war. Too bad, when I on my camera, the war ended. He did not kill it but somehow rolled it around his wrist :- Scary!!! Then, he brought it away.

Bye brother. Signal your brother, father or whoever to look for the fireman who brought you away. I really don't wish to see your family members again :-)

Are u able to spot where it is before reading my post?

Nice right? So colourful. Its brother is only black in colour. Not as handsome as it.

1 kudo to who can identify the snake's species.

Research - Part 2

After 3 days of rounding the whole HTJ (all wards and clinics), finally we managed to get 50 samples. We spent almost 6-7 hours a day just to wait and get permission to swab the doctors' ties. Just imagine we had to visit all the clinics and then started our tie hunting from the ground floor to 8th floor. I still remembered the longest wait to swab a doctor's tie is 1 hour. It was really challenging and tiring but I really enjoyed the process.

Now, we are famous in HTJ :-). Wherever we passed by, they would know we were hunting for doctors' ties. One of the doctor gave a good suggestion. We should give a sticker or something else as an acknolegement for participating in our survey. Furthermore, it helped us to recognise the doctors whom we had swabbed their ties because most of the time we really could not remember whether they were already our victims or not.

There is a rumour about 'Royal Ward' in HTJ. It is true!!! But, do you guys know where is it located? The first one who posted the correct answer get a kudo :-)

These are the result of our 1st day cultures.

Take a closer look. Look like nothing inside.

Wah!!! Got SA wo...... Tonight I gonna sleep with them le. Just hope they will help me to kill all the mosquitoes :-D

Research - Part 1

Finally, we started our research project - swabbing doctors' tie. Really happy and excited.

At 10pm, we brought along our swab and went to the surgical ward. Guess who was our 1st victim? He was not others but a normal HO. We explained our research purpose and procedures to him. He seemed like understand, but after filling up our questionnaire, he said: "Are u guys going to swab my throat now?" (if don't understand pls ask us to explain again, no need to pretend understand) Easily, we got our 1st swab done in 5 minutes time. Seemed pretty easy to us.

After that, we bumped into Mr. Anus. He was still so funny as before. He told us that he never wash his tie. He always bought new tie from pasar malam for RM 7 and threw it away whenever he got a new 1. (maybe he just wanna show that he is rich)

In SOPD, we met Mr. Gorilla. He mentioned that he did not wash his tie for 8 years already. (so dirty of him, that's why he is gorilla) He even blew on his tie to put more SA and MRSA on it. (swt, spoil our research purpose) Anyway still need to thank him for letting us to swab his 8-year fermented tie.

Actually, it's not easy to get 50 male doctors from surgical, orthopedic and paediatric departments. We kept hunting for them. Poor Shang had to go ward by ward and asked the nurses or female doctors, "Is there any guys doctors aroundddddd?" with her smiley and desperate face. Most of the nurses and female doctors just stared at her before they replied. (they must be thinking why is this gal comes and looks for male doctors during holiday :P, so desperate......)

After lunch, we went to meet Jimbo. We were not sure whether he was in the office, so very naturally we knocked his door. Somehow, Syafiq answered confidently, "Ya, he is in. I can smell him." Jimbo opened the door. We burst into laugh. (really salute him of having the skill of locating ppl by smell, maybe his olfactory nerve is just more advanced than us.)

In the afternoon, we continued with our hunting. We were rejected by Aragorn, the king of arrogant. Anyway, I expected him to say "NO" before we requested him to participate in our survey. I really wondered what had changed him so much. Anyone can provide me the answer can get 1 TFTD kudo.

Afterwards, we met Zhong1 Guo2 Guo2 Bao3 (some1 told me this is more suitable for him). He was so kind to let us swab his tie and he even filled in his age in the questionnaire. Guess how old is him? The 1st one to get it correct will get a kudo as well :)

Another funny scenario was when we met Mr. XYZ outside the 3rd floor lift. When he came out from the lift, Syafiq automatically transformed into the Digi Man and followed him. We managed to stop him but still Mr XYZ realised and turned back. He stared looked at us. (u guys already swabbed my tie, what u want more from me?) Quickly, he rushed into ICU. Just after 2 minutes, he came out. He was stunned to see us still standing outside. (actually we re waiting for lift, not him.) Just because of the 2 seconds stun, we heard a "BANG!!!". He was knocked by the automatic door of ICU. Immediately, all of us turned and faced the lift. We were trying hard to control ourselves - don't laugh! It was really funny if you were there and witnessed what had happend. Ok, another kudo will be awarded to the 1st person to name Mr. XYZ.

Around 5pm, we managed to complete our 20 swabs from SOPD. Again, thanks to Zhong1 Guo2 Guo2 Bao3 for telling us they had a HO teahcing lesson in SOPD after 4.30pm every Tuesday.

Well done guys. Very eager to see the result tomorrow. Tomorrow will be another tiring hunting day for us, I assumed.

Home Alone in Seremban

What will you do during lunch and dinner time if you are alone (no more friend around)? Going out to have a nice meal alone? It doesn't sound like me. For me, I will only have 2 choices:

No need me to introduce much about them. They are famous of being loner's friend. Why do I choose them? I think just because they are nicer than other products :-)

Any other recommendations that I should try?

Getting Lost

This morning I drove alone to IMU, BJ. My research was going to start today. Really happy and excited about it. However, when I reached that, I was told that Cocci was sick. He didn't manage to get us the agar and plate :( A wasted trip!

Anyway I was supposed to pass something to my sister. So again, I started my my journey to UPM, Putrajaya. Guess what happened? I missed a turning to Hospital Serdang and I really ended up in Putra Jaya. On the way, I passed by Perdana Putra, Putra Mosque, Putrajaya Square and even Seri Wawasan Bridge but still, I did not notice any sign board that can lead me out of Putrajaya. Finally, I saw a sign that lead to Hospital Putrajaya. I was thinking maybe this was the route I should follow. Just before I turned into the hospital, an ambulance came out. Just out of a sudden, I asked myself will this ambulance lead me to Hospital Serdang? Quickly, I made up my mind and followed the ambulance. Yo, I am really a regional genius. I ended up in Hospital Serdang. This is the hospital I supposed to go. Still, I wasted 1 hour.

After that, I went back to Sri Petaling to meet Bearkia and Mat Yong. Somehow, I ended up in Kajang. I was lost again! But not too bad, I got the chance to try out Kajang Sate which was known to be very very delicious. Ya, quite satisfied with it. Worth to try it.

In Sri Petaling, we tried out something that we never try before. Just 3 of us! Really a memorable moment. After that I fetched Bearkia back to Cheras. Although on the way he showed me the direction back to Seremban, still I was lost in Cheras. What I can remember was only pasar malam and Giant. This time I only wasted 20 minutes to find the way out.

I think next time I better bring a tour guide along since I really bad in remembering direction. The feeling of getting lost alone really......(don't know how to describe le) So hope you guys better not to try it.

This is the restaurant with the famous sate (I assumed). Can someone tell me whether I am right or not :)

Looks nice right? Just go ahead and try it. You definitely won't feel regret.

My New Badminton Racket

Today is the beginning of Badminton World Championship. I took out my racket and looked at it. 8 years already. I had been using it for 8 years. Plenty of scars on it. It just looked so old and full of injury. Really having a memorable time with it especially during the time I stayed in vista B. It accompanied me almost every weekend. Finally, I decided to let it retire. Get a replacement for it :P

My 8-year-old racket and its home.

My new racket with its new bungalow.

Now, I am so eager to try out my new racket. Probably I can comment about it soon.

IMU Shirt

This is the 1st generation (I assumed). It is a typical IMU design. Nothing special about it since Gordon has it. (Wonder how this dude got it.)

This is the 2nd generation. The design is quite unique. If you look at it carefully, it is actually a horse playing football with a racket at the side. A couple is dancing to entertain the horse as well. Can you appreciate it? By the way, it is nothing special since Gordon also has it.

This is the 3rd generation. Personally, I love this design very much. The arrangement of sports and colour really impress me. However, it is still using the same theme as 2nd generation - Together Learning. Anyway, it is not worth to talk about it since Gordon has it too.

This is the 4th generation. Actually, I don't understand what does the sequence mean. But, the theme has changed, becomes Together Learning For Health. At least they put some effort and add in For Health......lol. This is the shirt which is worth to keep. Why? Because that dude doesn't have it :)

This is the combination of 4 generation. Look like I am the only one having it :)

End Of Semester Review

Surgery Posting : This is my 1st posting and also my ever worst posting compare to other posting. I am not well-prepared for it. None of the lecturers impressed me but some of the doctors from HTJ did. Take for instance, Mr Raj and Dr Arun are just my favourite doctors to follow when I was supposed to go SOPD. During my exam, I got Gorilla as my examiner. He gave me an MVA case and border-line passed me, was I lucky or unlucky? Basically, I felt I have done badly in this posting.

Internal Medicine Posting : This is my 2nd posting. This is the posting that inspires me to put my effort in studying medicine. Besides my colleagues who were helping me throughout the posting, the lecturers from Internal Medicine really impressed me. Prof Chin, Prof Cheong, Dr James and Dr Gun, they are the one who showed me how interesting medicine is. I have made up my mind if I were going for further study, physician will be my only choice. For the internal medicine exam, I had Garfield as my examiner. Although I did not agree with some of the issues that we argued (rabbit also said he was wrong in some argument), still I think he was fair enough in giving points. I am quite satisfied with my achievement in this posting.

Family Medicine Posting : This is my last posting in sem6. All my colleagues told me this will be the most relaxing posting. Indeed, they are right. In this posting, I didn't study much but I still finished all the relevant topics that I should know (by right, I should revise my surgery or internal medicine). So what did I spend my time for? I contributed most of the time to my research. Initially, I felt stupid for wasting so much time in this research but after we got the overall idea, actually this research was so interesting. Therefore, no regret putting so much effort on it. Really need to thank Prof. Ong and Dr James again for guiding us and all my research mates for the hard work. Dr Loh, or maybe should address him as Prof Loh is the master of family medicine. His knowledge about medicine is just superb. I really wish my knowledge will be as power as him next time (Here, I would like to stress on knowledge ONLY).

I have created a poll to vote for the most inspiring lecturers from IMU. Hope whoever come across this poll are willing to give their opinion. I am eager to know about the result :P

IQ & Personality

Really satisfy with this result. :) Although a lot of people say I am a genius but I don't believe until I take this test. Hopefully this will be an accurate test......hahahaha.

Just click the link on the logo to try it out yourself.

I wonder how true is this test. This personality looks cool to me. Anyway still need some comment about the accuracy of this test.

Just click the link on the logo to try it out yourself.

Finally, I have proved that this IQ test actually quite accurate. Geriatric Specialist tried to interrogate me through MSN but it ended-up I have obtained a complete full history from him. Am I really a regional genius?

Injury Blows

Today I suffered from injury again during futsal. This time is not a common abrasion on my knee but a deep cut on my left eyelid. A 'chinese looks like' player lobbed the ball on my spectacle and my spectacle just cut into my eyelid.

My eyelid is inflammed and in intense pain. Still, the most painful is my first pair (the old pair that I use for sport) of spectacle has left me for that. It is no longer possible to accomapany me during sport anymore.

Just keep it as a souvenior :) Hope that my injury will heal without scar, if not I will force that dude to specialize in plastic surgery :)

Fear

Have you ever thought of what are you afraid of? Snake, lizard or ghost? Will you afraid of a normal person excluding your parents and fierce school teacher? Afraid of your friend. Why?

Two days ago, we went to celebrate Penguin's birthday in Curry Leaf Restaurant. During the meal, I kept making fun of Penguin and Geriatric Specialist (actually I had been teasing both of them for a week). I was just unstoppable, most of the statement came out from my mouth were without processed by my brain. Although embarrassment had set in but I didn't realise. I thought they had a happy night.

Today, TuaKee and Godzilla told me......
TuaKee : Penguin is very afraid of u lei. U scare her liao...
Godzilla : Oii, Geriatric Specialist said meet you is just like meeting ghost...

Really don't know the teasing can be so influential. I thought it was supposed to be some jokes to make everyone happy. Maybe I have missed to care about their feeling. Feel sorry about that. Please don't be afraid of me anymore, ok? I promise to tease both of you less.

Yo, I created terror to my friends. Hopefully is not too deep yet.

Start Blogging

Today is a nice day to start blogging. Why today? I finished my exam? I am too bored? Is because I was infected with Blog's disease which is a highly infectious disease.

How do we diagnose Blog's disease? Actually you need to fulfil some major or minor criteria in order to diagnose you are actually having it.

5 major criteria :
1. Heavily influenced by other bloggers.

2. Have a habit of reading others blog for at least 1 month duration.
3. Like to share your daily encounter.
4. Too free but always alone.
5. Want to know others comment about yourself.

5 minor criteria :
1. Just love typing.
2. Wanna improve your command of language.
3. Like to share your photo shooting skill.
4. Encourage others to blog as well.
5. Would like to know actually how many fans do you have.

According to Jen's criteria for diagnosis for Blog's disease, a firm diagnosis requires 2 major criteria or 1 major criteria and 2 minor criteria (modified from Jone's criteria for Acute Rheumatic Fever). If you happen to find out that you are having it, don't delay to go for treatment. The only single definite treatment is
