What Kind of Friend Are You?

You Are A Good Friend

You're always willing to listen
Or lend a shoulder to cry on
You're there through thick and thin
Many people consider you their "best friend"!

He he he...I am a good friend. Wondering is there excellent or best friend or not :)

New RM 50 Banknote

WoW, finally we have new design for our RM 50 banknote :)

Too bad they will only be released on 30 Jan 2008. So, we have to wait for another month before we can spend it or keep it in our wallet :(

The new RM50 banknote with a special packaging will be available for sale to members of the public. It will be priced at RM60 per set. Twenty thousand (20,000) sets will be available for sale from Wednesday, 26 December 2007 at Bank Negara Malaysia's Head Office, and at Bank Negara Malaysia’s branches in Pulau Pinang, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. The availability of these banknotes will be on a first come first served basis and will be limited to one set per person.

Wah, how smart our government is. They can easily gain RM 200 000 by just releasing 20k sets earlier and sell them at the price of RM 60. Salute!!! By the way, their value is still RM50 each.

What Your Handwriting Says About You

You are highly energetic. You are a passionate, intense, vigorous person.

You are somewhat outgoing, but you're not a natural extrovert. You think first before you act. You tend to be independent, rational, and logical.

You are very detail oriented and meticulous. You are a careful thinker and a true intellectual.

You need a lot of space in your life, and it's easy for you to feel stifled. You avoid commitment and responsibility whenever you can.

You are a free thinker. You are unique, open minded, and artistic. You don't care what other people think.

You are a good communicator. You work hard to get your ideas across effectively.

LOL...quite satisfy with the result. Actually I agree with the most of the comments except the 4th and 6th.

I don't think I have ever avoided comitment and been irresponsible.

I always don't think I am a good communicator but I did try hard to get my ideas across effectively :)

A Badminton Medal

Finally, I have won a badminton medal!!!

Wanted to post it for a long time but just too busy recently.

Having play badminton for more than 10 years, I always hope that I can take part in the tournament one day. Finally, I have the opportunity to represent my batch to play in sport's week. I really appreciate the chance given by YY......thanks dude.

On that day, I paired up with GPHM in a men's double. Although it was an easy game, it was still my 1st time playing in tournament. I was quite nervous but I still thought I did well on that day. Finally we won, 21-9, 21-16. Overall, we won by 4-3. Thanks to all my teamates.

I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to my 'Si Fu's......Glen, PS, GPHM & YY for coaching me for years.

THANKS

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

Get this link from YY's blog :

Your Birthdate: February 20
You are a virtual roller coaster of emotions, and most people enjoy the ride.Your mood tends to set the tone of the room, and when you're happy, this is a good thing. When you get in a dark mood, watch out - it's very hard to get you out of it.It's sometimes hard for you to cheer up, and your gloom can be contagious.
Your strength: Your warm heart
Your weakness: Trouble controlling your emotions
Your power color: Black
Your power symbol: Musical note
Your power month: February

OMG, look at the result!
1. Don't think warm heart is my strength.
2. I can always control my emotion well.
3. Musical note...ROTFLOL
4. February...maybe.

A Nail In The Fence

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.

His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.

Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.

He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the ! day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.

He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say 'I'm sorry', the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.'

Coca-cola

I believe that everyone drinks coca-cola before. But do you realise there are more than 50 types of coca-cola container's designs? Although the picture is quite blur, I think probably you still can appreciate it.

I took the picture from a restaurant in Muar. The owner really had a big collection of different coca-cola containers. If I am free next time, I gonna approach the owner to let me capture the photo one by one :)

Ya, before I forget, I will like to do promotion for the restaurant. The food is really delicious. Trust me :)

Happy Birthday!!! Glen & Deva

Glen, one of my best friend in IMU, BJ.

Knew him since semester 1 but only got closer from semester 2 onwards. We ate, crapped, studied, watched football and played sports together. He is also my 'teacher' in badminton and ping pong :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

Devarani, my CFCS colleague.

I remembered she asked 'Who is Jen Ern?" during our semester 3 organizing orientation. Anyway, I think she knows who I am now because I will be her CFCS colleague until semester 9 :( This is the nicest pix I have. Or maybe this is the only pix I have :)

Ding's Charity

You must be wondering what is Ding's Charity? It is nothing but a 1.5 hourly blood pressure taking session at a church near Termiang, Seremban monthly.

This organization is leaded by a non-Christian, Ding since few months ago. He has divided the blood pressure takers (BPT) into 2 groups. Each time, 8-10 BPT will go to the church and conduct the session. Most of the elderly age range from 50-70. Each BPT will manage about 12-15 elderly.

Sincerely, it is fun to help them out. You can grab the opportunity to practise your skills in taking BP and giving advice. Furthermore, you can enjoy others to address you as doctor 2 years earlier :)

So what are u waiting for? Join Ding's Charity today!

Call 016-5416145 and you will be entertained shortly :)

Donation

Few days ago, 3 students in scout uniform from XXX secondary school came to my dad's shop and asked for donation. I was assigned by my dad to deal with them. "Just give them RM 10 and send them away." That's my dad's suggestion.

However, I ended in sending them away without donating a single cent. Why?

1. They came in nice uniform without sweat.
2. They came with a Mercedes Benz.
3. They only had superficial idea about the purpose of the donation.

It reminds me when I was a PBSM (Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah) member back in secondary school. We used to collect donation as well. But we had to walk from house to house and shop to shop under the hot sun. Not coming out from a comfortable Benz. Besides, we had to know everything about the donation in detail and even gave out some small booklets so that people who donated know why they were donating.

Maybe it is a transition or revolution. Their method is just different from us. I think I just need to keep myself updated :)

Research - Part 5

Last week, we resumed our research project. It had been 5 weeks since I last followed-up with my research. We went to BJ, thinking of we could make a conclusion and complete the project. But everything was so unexpectable. Lets look at what had happend.

All our plates were heavily contaminated with fungus and some other growths. We could not analysed our result at all. So what to do? Prof. Ong requested us to re-culture all the positive plates. It means that we have to redo almost 30% of the task.

Apart from that, we still can't get the data that we need from the Infectious Disease Department in HTJ. They have been delaying the procedure by giving some unacceptable excuse. We are actually run out of time :(

We are so demolarised. But then, Dr. James sent us an inspiring email. "Its okay, do not get discouraged, research is like that." Just because of this email, we will continue to work on :)

Thanks, Jimbo.

Height

On the 1st day of Psychiatry, we were told to fill in a research form for our colleague. I finished it pretty fast. Then I peeped at ZY's form. Surprisingly, I saw a 157cm written in the height column.

JE : Why did u simply fill in the form? 157cm...lol
ZY : I didn't. I have no idea about my height. 157cm, anything wrong? Should be around there.
JE : (wondering he is kidding or seriously don't know about his height) I am about 173cm. How can u be 157cm only?
ZY : Of course la. U re taller than me ma.
JE : (wondering why he is still trying to defend himself) I don't think our height is difference by 16cm. U re at least 170cm.
ZY : Sure or not?
JE : SS is 167cm. So how can u be 157cm?
ZY : Maybe I m shorter than her lo.
JE : (his mind turn fast, can be a good debater)I m sure u re taller than her le.
ZY: (turn to SS) How tall re u?
SS : 167cm.
ZY : Then maybe I m wrong.
JE : ......

I am still wondering how can a person don't know about his/her own height. Even if you have no idea about it, your own estimation usually will not be more or less than 5cm. But in this case, there is a 13cm gap. And more important is he is ZY. So, until now I am still wondering is he fooling me or he really blur :0

In another occasion, I encountered someone who complained that she was getting shorter recently. I was wondering how can a person becoming shorter without any trauma or aging. Now I am in psychiatric posting. So I will think it is due to delusion of insight :)

I Cook

When was the last time I cooked a proper meal? Let me recalled......hmm should be during semester 2 when I was still staying with my 2 pretty housemates. Back in semester 1 & 2, we used to cook our dinner together. But somehow we stopped our cooking session later on as we were getting busier and lazier. Thinking back, actually it was quite fun and meaningful as it was normally the only time we chat and gossip :)

Since when I knew how to cook? I used to cook when I was in Form 1 & 2. Both my parents had to work and my siblings had to study in the morning. I was the only one who went to school in the afternoon. That time, I had no transport out to buy my lunch. So, I learned the skill from my mum. That was when I obtained the 2 years experience of cooking :)

After that, I stopped for a few years. Although in between, i assisted my mum in cooking sometimes, still it was not considered cooking. Only until I entered IMU, I cooked again. So far, my housemates never complain of my cooking skill, so I thought I still retained the skill :)

Then why am I cooking today? My mum went to US for a 10 days trip. My house only left my dad, sis and I. My dad wanted me to 'tapao' from outside and ate at home. Omg, I am having holiday at home. I do not want to eat outside food anymore. So I decided to practise my long-lost skill.

Below are the outcome :

Yes, I succeed. Neither my dad and sis complain. It is edible. Again, I gain back my confidence in cooking :)

A Bad Day

Today is a bad day for me. I am in bad mood. Not really bad but just may be a bit down. Every bad things seem always come together.

1. Suddenly I have to go to HKL tomorrow. We are given the choice of going tomorrow, going on the Raya week or stay with Dr Xavier. I know I will be busy tomorrow as I have to assist a seminar tomorrow afternoon but at the same time I do not want to miss the chance of learning Child Psychiatry from the specialist from HKL. So, I make a quick decision. I am going tomorrow. Actually, I am supposed to go on the week after Raya and I can follow up my research in BJ on that day as well. However, my plan does not work. Now, I have to travel for the whole day tomorrow because I am going back for Raya break. Besides, I have to make an extra trip to BJ after Raya :(

2. We are supposed to have a TBL and seminar tomorrow. Yesterday night, I chose to study TBL first. I studied until quite late although I was very tired after a futsal game. Today, we are told the TBL has been postponed to next week. My last night effort was wasted. I will need to re-study about this topic after Raya break :(

3. I am mentally and physically tired. I thought this will not happen after Obstetric posting. It happens again. It's my own fault as I always cannot resist temptation. Mentally tired because I do not have sufficient of sleep last night. Physically tired because I tried out a 5km jog on Sunday, a 2.5 hours badminton on Monday and a 2 hours futsal yesterday. Today I can really feel muscle weakness of my limbs :(

4. When I reached home, my home connection is still down. I called streamyx and the technician as well. Both parties refuse to do anything about my connection. Sad. Have to continue to become a parasite :(

Anyway, just as YY said, it is all part and parcel of life that we have to go through. I do not like to share my problem with others. I always believe that I can cope with them well. I will only write it out when I have solved it. So, it's not a problem to me anymore. I am happy again :)
